Day 1: Adventures Close to “Home”

On this first day on Fripp Island, you may be a little tired from your busy week, so we are suggesting a day spent close to home. Maybe you will want to start your day with a walk along shore’s edge, feeling the wet sand squeeze between your bare toes and the serenity of the ocean make its way into your soul. Depending on when your travels bring you our way, it may be too cold to swim, but it is rarely too cold to wade. Next up on the schedule could be a game or two of pickleball, playing on the courts of the Racquet Club at Fripp Island, located within walking distance of your seasonal sanctuary.  Court fees are just $26 per hour easily fitting into most vacation budgets. And as the sun begins to set on this very beautiful and very relaxing day, a dinner at Bonito Boathouse Restaurant, located in the Fripp Island Marina, promises to be a meal you will never forget, offering a seafood-centric menu dotted with some land lubber’s favorites as well.

Day 2: A Day in Beaufort

Now that you have relaxed and explored some of what Fripp Island has to offer, it is time to expand your horizons, heading into nearby Beaufort to discover what secrets this lowcountry town has to reveal. The most important meal of the day can also be the most delicious when you stop in for breakfast at the Magnolia Café, located at 703 Congress Street. Offering a next level breakfast dining experience, their Magnolia Café Frittatas are destined to add an extra shine to your day. Today can be an exploration of the history of Beaufort with a visit to the Robert Smalls House, located at 511 Prince Street, or you can spend it exploring the stores for souvenirs for yourself or gifts for others. Beaufort Emporium, 905 Bay Street, offers a charming selection of gifts, many created by local artists, or, if you want to stick with the historic adventures, Bay Street Treasures, 1001 Bay Street, is an antique store filled to the brim with wares that will transport buyers into yesteryear at first glance. The Old Bull Tavern, 205 West Street, offers a menu filled with American and European foods, offering a satisfying way to end your second day in paradise.

Day 3: A Little Bit of Everything

On your final day on Fripp Island, your itinerary will contain a mixture of staying close to home and venturing out for some fun. Our resort is home to two golf courses, Ocean Point and Ocean Creek, both of which offer a fantastic way to fill the morning hours. After a lunch of burgers or other sandwiches at Beedos, 1634 Sea Island Parkway on St. Helena’s Island, a visit to the Kazoobie Kazoo Museum promises to bring a touch of levity to your long weekend away. Located at 12 John Gault Road in Beaufort, this fun museum and factory is dedicated to the history of what is perhaps the most unique musical instrument ever and guests can tour the factory and purchase kazoos for the children.  And for your last meal of the weekend, why not make it a special occasion meal and enjoy a next level meal at Ribault Social Club, 1103 Bay Street? Established in 1891, this fancy restaurant was once the hub of dining and social life in Beaufort and today’s rendition captures the spirit of that original restaurant.
