What’s It Like Outside?
The South Carolina coast comes alive in the summertime. The warm weather means outdoor activities are the go-to! Fripp Island weather consists of sunny days and clear nights. Afternoon thunderstorms are common but don’t last too long! Temperatures typically range from the low 90s in the daytime and the low 70s in the evening. Packing is easy! T-shirts, sunglasses, flip-flops, and shorts. You can bring a nice outfit for a special occasion, but the locals sport casual and comfortable outfits. Now that you’re packed let the fun begin!
Hit The Beach!
Visiting Fripp Island in August wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the beach. Our beach is simply breathtaking! This beach is a calm place to enjoy the sun, water, and relaxation! The beach is still warm in August and is the ideal spot to spend an afternoon. If you’re looking for a more adventurous experience, visit Hunting Island. The Island is a true South Carolina gem. You’ll find the only publicly accessible lighthouse, acres of marshland, miles of beach, and even a saltwater lagoon! Bring the kids along and explore one of the most beautiful beaches in the southeast.
Get on the Green!
Golfing is a great activity to enjoy outdoors all year long! Fripp Island has two beautiful courses to pick from, and each one offers incredible scenery and well-crafted layouts. No matter your skill level, Fripp has something for everyone. These courses also provide lessons perfect for beginners or kids!
Attend an Island Event!
Fripp Island has many events to attend in August and year-round! From nature programs to Night Frog Walks and even a Turtles of Tarpon Scavenger Hunt! Cast Your Line at a Fishing Tournament!
Fishing is a must-do activity to enjoy every season. Fishing Tournaments take place from May to November. From experienced anglers to newbies testing out the waters, everyone is welcome! Each tournament offers different activities, even a Kids’ Fishing Tourney! This is a fantastic way to get out on the water and enjoy the company of others.
