Connect with Nature

Fripp Island takes great pride in its natural beauty, from lush greenery and marshlands to diverse wildlife and oceanfront. The island is home to an array of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, American alligators, loggerhead sea turtles, and bald eagles, all of which you can see roaming freely throughout the island. With diverse habitats like the beaches, dune system, maritime forest, tidal creeks, and saltmarshes, natural beauty is around every corner. While these animals coexist with us on the island, it’s important not to disturb them, as we are committed to preserving their natural behaviors and habitats. For a more immersive experience, explore our self-guided Audubon nature trail and discover the thriving ecosystems that make Fripp Island so unique.

WILDLIFE REMINDERS ON FRIPP ISLAND:

To help protect the natural balance and ensure the safety of both residents and wildlife, we ask that all guests follow a few important guidelines:

  • Fishing is allowed in saltwater only—no fishing in freshwater ponds.
  • Please avoid petting, feeding, or approaching the deer. Maintain a respectful distance from alligators at all times.
  • Do not block traffic while observing wildlife.
  • Dogs must be kept on leashes while on the beach.
These reminders help us preserve the unique wildlife and natural beauty of Fripp Island.
