Fripp Island has 3.5 miles of pristine beachfront for visitors to enjoy. The island’s east-end beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and taking it easy. Fort Fremont Historical Preserve  

Located on St. Helena Island, Fort Fremont Historical Preserve is a former military site that is now a historical preserve and public beach. The fort was used as a prisoner of war camp during the Civil War and later served as a coastal defense post. Today, visitors can enjoy picnicking, fishing, swimming, and exploring the remains of the fort. The site is located 30 minutes from Fripp Island, so this activity is perfect for a day trip!  

 

Spanish Moss Trail  

Getting outside and enjoying nature is easy! The Spanish Moss Trail is a 12.5-mile long trail that runs through Beaufort County. The trail is open to the public and perfect for biking, walking, running, or rollerblading. The trail offers stunning views of the Lowcountry landscape and is a great way to see the area. For those looking for a shorter ride, the 3-mile long nature trail on Fripp Island is perfect.
