Join us for one day or the whole weekend! September’s theme is “Beach” and all of our education programs will revolve around beach ecology, environmental issues impacting the coast, and more! Children of all ages are welcome to join us, however younger students may need assistance with a few activites from parents/gaurdians. 3 and under are free. Price is per child and parents are not expected to purchase a ticket for themselves, however it is expected that primarily the children are the ones participating in events. There is limited seating on our Fripper II boat for the Nature Cruise and in the unlikely event we have too many adults we may request a few to stay behind to enjoy a childfree 3 hours.

Thursday we will meet at the Nature Center at 9:30 for check in, our first class will begin at 10am, followed by a 15 minute break, our second class will begin at 11:45, followed by a 2 hour lunch, and we will wrap the day with our final class at 3:15pm-4:45pm. Depending on the number of students schedules may vary, and we aim to group children together by age. Classes on Thursday will include a beach walk, seining (a get wet in the ocean activity), and CSI: Sea Turtle.

If you select to join us for classes on Friday and Saturday we will have an outdoor movie night Thursday with snacks and crafts.
Friday we will meet at the Marina at 8:45am for a 3 hour Nature cruise to Bull’s point where we will disembark and go shelling before returning to the marina! We will break for lunch at noon for 2 hours. In the afternoon beach fishing and sandcastle building for the younger students. We will break for dinner and meet at the Nature Center around 8:30pm for a Discovery After Dark class!

Saturday is the final day, and we will have fun morning with an island wide scavenger hunt where each family will compete! Students will have to use the knowledge they learned over the weekend to solve clues! We will wrap up by noon and say goodbye until October for our Marsh Themed Homeschool Days!
