Nature Excursion – Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center

$35Experience the beauty of one of the most endangered ecosystems, the longleaf pine forest. Learn the historic use of longleaf, as well as their ecological characteristics, importance, and present-day management. Program will be led by a Tom Yawkey guide and will include an extensive but leisurely hike through the forest and a visit to remains of a former sawmill on Cat Island. Be prepared to cross the Intracoastal Waterway via pontoon boat and embark on an around 3-mile hike walking on relatively flat ground.
We will be providing a picnic lunch, snacks, and coffee please indicate when you book if you have any dietary restrictions.
Duration
- Depart from the Nature Center at 6:00am
- Return around 5pm depending on traffic
