How to Spend a Day at Hunting Island State Park
Hunting Island Lighthouse
Make room at the top of your bucket list for the Hunting Island Lighthouse! Grab your crew and make your way up 167 steps until you reach the top and discover breathtaking, panoramic views of the barrier island coastline. Nature Trails
You’ll want to take advantage of the miles of nature trails found in the park! Whether you prefer to hike on foot or ride along on bikes, you’ll find a variety of trails to choose from. Pack a lunch for the set and set out to enjoy the sunshine and possibly even spot some wildlife! Be sure to have a trail map on hand with plenty of water.
Saltwater Fishing
Saltwater fishing is one of the most common activities on the island. Pick up bait and other equipment at the campground’s park store, then head to any designated fishing location on the island. We prefer the pier on the southern tip of the island that extends far into Fripp Inlet.
Bonus Tip: If you need a change of scenery, take time to search for shark teeth along the five miles of beach. You never know what you might find!
