Depending on what you’re looking to pick and enjoy, you’ll want to keep their harvesting dates in mind to plan a trip that meets your palate-pleasing style! Spring through July tends to be the times of year that many visitors head this way to pick up something delicious. The spring schedule has strawberries ready to be picked between April 4 and May 30 while squash and zucchini are prime between May 1 and June 30. This is also the perfect timeframe to pick up green beans while guests can enjoy pickles and sliced cucumbers on-site between May 15 and July 20. Come by for sweet corn between June 4 and July 15 or pick up some amazing okra between May 30 and July 30. Eggplant, cantaloupe, and peppers are in season between June 1 and July 30 with tomatoes not far behind starting June 10. Looking to pick your own watermelons this year? Be here between June 10 and July 30 to find your best options! Winter vegetables available to pick on-site are always at their best between October 1 and November 15 at Dempsey Farms. While picking your own produce and goods is certainly a huge draw at Dempsey Farms, visitors can also enjoy browsing their market that’s often open between Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 until 2:00 pm certain times of the year. Here, you can typically find everything from eggplant and okra to bell peppers, corn, beets, cabbage, winter squash, and shelled butter beans as well. In the fall, the market showcases pumpkins and gourds too.
