As usual we enjoyed our stay on Fripp Island. Our family has vacationed on the island on five occasions, usually renting from a family member. Due to the increase in our numbers this year we decided to rent a larger home. 108 Davis Love Drive is a beautiful home but dated. It needs some upgrading if you want to continue to charge the rates you are currently charging. When we vacation we cook most of our meals in house. The house did not seem to have the basic kitchen needs, ie: a roasting pan, or a crockpot. And yet, there was a soft serve ice cram maker?? The one dish towel provided by the Fripp Island Realty Company was sad. I guess I should have brought these items with me but when you are driving 12 plus hours for vacation, I prefer not to take along my entire kitchen. I did love that coffee maker! The configuration of potential sleeping spots is a bit narrow minded. (and not adequately described in the property description) The one room obviously set up for children has 2 full beds, one day bed and a trundle. This is advertised as 6 sleeping spots. We had adults, no children. The inability to close the garage doors since we could not exit through any other method caused a constant battle with raccoons going in and out of the garage gaining access to the trashcans. In an attempt to cool the upstairs the master bedroom downstairs and adjoined bathroom were an ice box. I understand when renting someone else's home that there are restrictions of use, ie: a closet with the homeowner's personal items but doors/elevator/ice maker, all restricted use. None of that was mentioned in the property description and actually the elevator was mentioned as usable by the renter(s). We appreciated the golf cart included and the amenity cards. There are many homes to choose from on Fripp Island and next trip, I will be paying closer attention.

108 Davis Love is a beautiful house with grand porches and fantastic views! We enjoyed our two-week summer stay there but would not rent there again. The beautiful French doors leading to the back porch were not for guest use. Although we could use the other single doors, they did not function properly and we could not get them to lock. The description of this property notes the elevator is for guests with limited mobility. I had a 79 year-old family member with a foot injury (which is limited mobility in my opinion). When I asked for use of the elevator, my request was denied because he wasn't "handicapped". In addition, we could not use the speaker system in the house to listen to music because the system is not bluetooth and only works with an old iPod (or adapter which was not provided and we did not have). The oven quit working during our stay. There is no access to get inside the house from the garage. So, if you park your golf cart or car in the garage, you have to close the garage door, exit out a back door, and then walk around to either the front or back of the house and up the steps. I don't mind walking but it was very inconvenient for the older family members. Beautiful house but we've rented better houses on Fripp for less $.
